The Growth Research Platform (GRP) is a new initiative led by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), focused on understanding and addressing the challenges faced by economies in developing countries. The platform is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) and incorporates the research of the Private Enterprise Development in Low-Income Countries (PEDL), Structural Transformation and Economic Growth (STEG), and Reducing Conflict and Improving Performance in the Economy (ReCIPE) programmes, alongside the synthesising and dissemination work of VoxDev.
This first GRP event presents a day of panel discussions on key aspects of economic growth in low-income countries. The panels will bring together academics and policy practitioners who work at the intersection of the GRP programme’s research focuses – private enterprises, structural transformation, and economies in conflict.
The panels will cover investment in conflict and/or fragile contexts, agriculture in structural transformation, and the localisation of research. The programme confirming panellists will be available soon.
This workshop is being presented in conjunction with the Centre for the Study of African Economies’ (CSAE) Conference 2025: Economic Development in Africa, which will run from 23 - 25 March. Please note there is a registration cost for the CSAE conference, but not for the GRP workshop.
